MCD Elections-Will It Be A Change For Indian Politics?

How is the country progressing under the rule of present BJP and Congress party. Both the political parties are not doing much good for the development of the country. They are always in a blame game and their corrupt politics has made the country to be known as a failed nation.

The nation is going through a critical time and we don’t want to see what happens in the coming elections. Will the people vote for BJP and Congress Party to make it an end of their corrupt politics and make a new beginning for India?

To understand the importance of the upcoming MCD elections, we need to discuss some facts. The previous election of the state was held in 2013. At that time, most of the constituencies did not have proper power supply, drainage system and other basic facilities. In that election, Congress party secured 68 seats in the state. BJP won 41 seats in the MCD elections and the JD(S) won the remaining 5 seats.

But the result of the polls shocked the people because in the previous elections the BJP had contested on the issues of water, electricity, and roads and other issues but the Congress was doing a better job in these fields. And then the people voted for the Congress party despite all the criticism of the BJP and in 2018 it is again doing the same thing.

The first MCD elections were held in 1997 where BJP won 39 seats, the Congress won 30 seats and the JD(S) won 9 seats. BJP lost in the 1999 elections when Congress was ruling the state but in 2003 it gained back the majority with the help of the JD(S) and became the ruling party.

The state elections in 2017 resulted in a victory for the Congress party by a big margin but the MCD polls will decide the fate of the state. If BJP wins the elections it will be a huge victory and if the Congress wins it will be considered as a big defeat for the BJP.

And this time the biggest issue is that the people don’t want to vote for any party, as they believe that the state is going to suffer because of the misrule of the two parties.

There are some more reasons to be worried about the result of the polls. The election has become a poll of the people’s choice between the corruption of the ruling party and the people’s trust in the Congress party.

In the previous assembly polls, the Congress party claimed that it will give a loan waiver of ₹9,500 crore to farmers, but when the money was released to them, it was only ₹2,000 crore. This is the reason that the party has failed to win the hearts of the voters.

In a recent survey, when asked, “Do you believe in the statements made by the Congress party in the last 10 years?” The result was, “No” in 80% of the respondents, which shows that the people don’t believe the promises of the Congress party.
